SXSW is such a massive, sprawling festival, it can be hard to know where to start. But fear not. We’ve scoped out the lineup for you and narrowed it down to 7 must-see acts to catch between your taco and barbecue breaks.
GRACE CARTER
3/13 @ Latitude 30 || 3/14 @ Palm Door on 6th
OUR QUEEN. We were lucky enough to catch Grace on the road last fall, and tbh, it was magic. She’s killing it in the UK and Europe right now, and these are the only US dates on her calendar. Do. Not. Miss. Them.
Before you go, listen to: Why Her Not Me
CHARLI ADAMS
3/12 @ Cooper’s
A lot of artists seem to have a specific ~thing~. But Charli Adams seems to be good at all the things. She’ll rip your heart into a million little pieces with songs like “Black Tee Shirt,” then get your blood pumping with bops like “Bad Caffeine,” and then send you spiraling into a dreamy nostalgia with cinematic tracks like “Backseat.” If you want an emotional rollercoaster (hint: you do), this is your girl.
Before you go, listen to: Backseat
LOVE YOU LATER
3/16 @ Edwin’s
Love You Later’s Lexi Aviles takes the best parts of Los Angeles and Nashville--her two home bases--to show you dream pop at its finest: vulnerable, honest, emotive, and unapologetically personal.
Before you go, listen to: Emily
SAM FENDER
3/13 @ Latitude 30 || 3/14 @ Lustre Pearl || 3/15 @ Lucille
I’m gonna be real with you for a sec. Sam Fender’s a pretty big deal in the UK. And he’s right on the verge of exploding here in the States. You definitely want to be able to say you saw him before he was a superstar.
Before you go, listen to: Dead Boys
JP SAXE
3/16 @ Stephen F’s Bar
We’ve low key had a crush on this guy and his dreamy voice for the last year, and if you don’t catch his set for us, you’re gonna break our hearts.
Before you go, listen to: 25 In Barcelona
SAD COPS
3/14 @ Sheraton Backyard || 3/15 @ Hotel Vegas
Our hometown boiiiiiiiis! These emo-pop rockstars know how to put on a friggin show. Go show ‘em all your love.
Before you go, listen to: Best Friends
NOVO AMOR
3/11 @ Augustine || 3/15 @ St. David’s Sanctuary
If you’ve kept up with us on Insta the past few months, you know we’re digging this guy *big time.* His music literally makes you feel like you’re in a movie, so you KNOW that’s gonna be a ~vibe~ live.
Before you go, listen to: Utican
Even if you aren't heading to Austin, make sure you check out all of these artists. You'll definitely be hearing their names again soon.
