THE GOOD STUFF
What was your first music trip?
Chicago for One Direction’s OTRA tour. I went alone, which I was super nervous about, but it ended up being one of the happiest days of my entire life.
What’s the craziest trip you’ve ever taken for a band?
Probably the time I flew from Ft. Lauderdale to Seattle to see Noah Gundersen. I spent like 12 hours traveling roundtrip to spend less than 48 hours in the city. No ragrets, tho.
What do you love about traveling for music?
I’ve always been obsessed with music and traveling. Growing up, I was fangirling over both the Jonas Brothers and Anthony Bourdain. So traveling for music is the perfect way to combine those two loves. I get to see my favorite bands, and I get to experience the foods and cultures of different cities. And now I get to do all of that with my best friends. It’s a pretty special thing.
Fav city to visit for tours?
I think I’ve gotta go with Chicago. I’ve had so many fun times there over the years. But I’ll always have a soft spot for Nashville too.
Fav venue you’ve traveled to?
It’s a tie between Danforth Music Hall in Toronto and Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn.
Tell us about one of your fav tour memories.
Ahhhh there are so many good ones. One of my all-time favs is when we were in San Antonio to see LANY. My best friend Katie and I were just chilling in our hotel room, waiting for my sister to get in from Dallas. All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door and we discovered my sister had brought along a lil surprise: our other bff Sydney! I don’t think I’ve ever been more surprised in my entire life haha. We all went to the show, danced our tails off, and then went out for a post-show cinnamon roll at the legendary Lulu’s. Good times.
What are your bucket list venue destinations?
Red Rocks is number one, hands down. The Troubadour in LA and the O2 in London are on the list too.
Bucket list artists/bands to see?
The things I’d do to see Usher. Oof. Hozier, Saint Raymond, Plested, and Mumford & Sons are also at the top of the list.
Any words of wisdom for your fellow traveling fangirls?
Don’t worry about what other people think when it comes to your music trips. I’ve been called crazy and silly so many times for doing this, but I’m having way more fun than those people so 💁🏼. Also never fly with an undiagnosed sinus infection, bc your eardrum could rupture and it’s, uh, not fun.
